When I first started acrylic pouring someone showed me how to do the “tree ring” pour. I had to try one for myself and this was my results. It was kinda plain for my liking, but I just didn’t know what to put on it. I was thinking about painting a fish or a turtle but I felt like they had been over done. So I kept looking for animals in the water and this sweet little otter cried out to be painted.
I have always loved painting animals but was kinda fearful of trying to paint on top of my pour. Thankfully I have been following a group of amazing artists on Facebook, and with much encouragement I felt more confident in my approach. This little guy just wanted to be painted. Now I cant wait to embellish some more. And believe me there are more. Acrylic pouring is sort of addictive, you can’t get enough.
One hint I was thankful to learn is, if you want to paint on top of your acrylics you can apply a protective coating which will keep the under painting from washing away when you paint your embellishment.
Hope you enjoy this little guy. I sure enjoyed painting him and cant wait to try more.
Love the Otter painting…. like others I thought I otter check your blog out today and comment…. Hugs xx

thanks much Jodi, i really had fun with this little guy, brought back my love for animals, making me stray a bit from flowers lol
I love this painting! What did you apply to your pour before you painted over it so it wouldn’t wash away? I have a couple I’d like to embellish and had wondered about that. Thanks.
Thanks Mary. I just added a light coat of Minwax Polycrylic.
😍thanks so much for visiting
Thanks Jodi glad you like I wanna do more animals 💜
