Fluid Fire as Promised

img_1550

Its that time of year again. I love fall. Lets invite our friends and enjoy the cool nights around a nice warm bonfire. In my first blog I had posted a fire painting with the  promise of more to come. Well, here she is, I had painted this fire around the same time as the previous painting.  But it felt like it was missing something. Then the chill came and I thought, wouldn’t a bonfire be nice.  I was excited about the 3 dimensional feeling the straw blowing and swiping creates.  The painting even looks different at all angles.

I am totally ecstatic  about all the fun ways this fluid mix of paints can be manipulated.  And then when you embellish with a second pour, amazing things can happen. I don’t know about you but this painting has me wanting “smore” 🙂

When I first started blogging I started with a free site. Which is still active but I no longer post my paintings there. I may transfer some of the pages to this site. If I can just figure out how.  Oh the perils of the new blogger.  One of the pages in my first blog was my first attempt at blowing fire with the acrylic pour medium.

For those interested in my process please leave a comment/ request for a descriptive post or tutorial. I really love the way this process made the flames feel real and 3 dimensional.  I don’t know about you but this painting leaves me longing for “Smore”  🙂

Well Good Morning, So much for late night blogging. Or in this case, ( kitty company while blogging) is not the smartest move in the world. Why? you ask.  I was so excited about this post that even though I was over tired,  just had to get my blog on for the day. One which had been really full, with lots of running around.  And applying finishing touches to my painting. Squeezing the life out of my day. So that when it came time to post ….. (drum roll please).  I didn’t notice that Piper, my cuddle kitten had sat on the enter button. AAAAAA….. and pushed the bottom of my blog into nonexistence.  What did this do to the post? Made it look like a bottomless pit. And the bottom is where the goodies are. The spot where you my awesome readers get the chance to tell me what you think. Call me vain but this is what I live for. So again please comment below if you have any questions.

So If you didn’t get the chance to comment before please take the time to do so now. I hope you enjoyed sitting by the bonfire with me. If you are interested in a chance for me to explain my process of how this beauty was created. Please Comment Below. Thanks so much for taking the time to join me.

Nature with a Twist

Fluid painting has entered the scene with a bang. I have been exploring the media for about one year now. With the immediate popularity of the medium it has been an exciting ride of new information. This painting was inspired by cherry blossoms in the spring.  If you have a desire to see them in real life, Washington DC., Seattle Washington, Dallas, and more are cities in the US that boast the real trees. I long to have the opportunity to travel to these places and some day paint the awesome display while I see them in person. But for these my special blossoms. I used a swipe technique for the background and the trees were added later still using the fluid paint formula. I am loving the look as I hope you are as well.

If you would like to see me painting in action please look for my instructional videos on my youtube channel, To be notified of future postings on this  site, please join my email below.
